WELCOME
Welcome to my world...
I paint seascapes, landscapes and abstracts,
that connect us to the world we live in.
I study the magic of nature and translate
the shapes colours and textures, using abstraction.
Abstraction gives the viewer the opportunity
to make their own connections.
Meet the artist
I am a contemporary artist with a deep connection to the natural world around me. My work is inspired by the rhythms of nature, the landscape we live in, and the colours of the seasons, all of which lift my spirit and soothe my soul. Having been creative all my life, it is art that helps me make sense of my place in the world. I am intrigued by the human/nature connection and explore that through my art.
'Art does not reproduce what we see. It makes us see'.

Where I find
Inspiration
My work is deeply inspired by the British coast and the countryside where I live. Whether it is a close up observation, or a sweeping landscape, the majesty of the mountains, or my connection with the Bay, it is all a source of inspiration which filters though into my art. The rhythms of nature help me understand that although ever changing, the cycle continues, much like life. I use layers to represent the layers of our lives, and the colours in nature to influence my colour palettes. My preference for muted tones adds a healing and calm element to my work. Abstraction gives the viewer the opportunity to make their own connections. I want my art to draw attention to the beauty around us and help us take notice, calm the soul and stir the senses.
